"To Seek,

TO SERVE,

 TO SHARE CHRIST."

Dear Congregation,
Over the past few months, the Staff-Parish Relations Committee has been actively searching for a permanent pastor. My contract is over August 15, and I encouraged them to look for someone to come full-time. The committee has reviewed candidates, conducted interviews and is prepared to present their recommendation to the Administrative Board for consent, as the By-laws of Athens First Methodist Church require. (Para. 336.5.k)
There will be a meeting of the Administrative Board Tuesday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. All Board members are urged to attend, and all church members are welcome. However, this will not be a vote by the entire congregation—only by Board members.
I am excited about the opportunities this decision brings to the ministries of Athens First Methodist Church under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
God bless you all.
Mac

UPCOMING LIVE SERMON

Here at Athens First Methodist Church, we know that everyone has a story.
The beauty of the gospel is that no matter what your life's story is, Jesus has come to
redeem it and give it another ending. That's why we proclaim that we can not stop
speaking about what we have seen and heard!

All are welcome!

Join our prayer wall

Prayer is a key part of our church. We have created a prayer wall on our app to share prayer needs and requests. This is a powerful tool for bringing people together in prayer for others. When we pray we develop a burden and then a action to move. By participating in our prayer wall, individuals can feel connected to a larger community and know that they are not alone in their struggles. It is a beautiful way to show love and support for others, and to honor the power of prayer.
